2 fraudsters arrested in Handwara, property taken by them fraudulently also recovered: Police

 
Handwara, May 03 (KNS): Continuing its efforts against criminal offenders, Handwara Police arrested two fraudsters and also recovered property fraudulently gained by them.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that on April 30 FIR No. 99/2023 U/s 420 IPC was registered at Police Station Handwara that two persons purchased some electronic items from a shopkeeper in Handwara but fled from the shop without making any payment. 

The statement reads that a team led by SHO PS Handwara immediately swung into action and based on leads developed during investigation, statements of witnesses and technical evidence, the accused persons involved in the offence were identified, traced and arrested. 

"The accused have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir, S/O Mohd Yousuf and Noor Mohd Khan S/o Wali Mohd Khan both residents of Zaloora Sopore. Based on their disclosure, electronic items fraudulently taken by them, which include a refrigerator, washing machine, solar panel and inverter battery, have been recovered."

It reads further investigation in the case is going on to ascertain further involvement of accused persons in other criminal cases. (KNS)
