Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the house arrest of its chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah who had returned from New Delhi just two days ago. The party has termed the detention as autocratic and unconstitutional.
In a statement to KNS, a DFP spokesperson while criticizing the state administration over imposing restrictions on activities of pro-freedom leadership termed it unjustified and said such curbs prove all the democratic claims of so-called government are hollow and deceptive.
"Thursday, as Shabir Ahmad Shah tried to step out, a large contingent of police force stopped him and put him under house arrest," he said, adding, there is a Marshal Law prevailing in the state, in real terms.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said, since Shah was released from jail in 2011, he was placed under house for almost two years and prevented from offering 159 Friday and 8 Eid prayers.
