A joint team of the district civil administration and police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday demolished 15 illegal shops and other encroachments on state and kahcharai land in Waghama area, officials said.
 
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the action was carried out under the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukht LG Administration Programme, with officials identifying the demolished structures as being linked to individuals accused in cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
 
“The structures were raised on state land falling under Khasra No.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel2494 (min) and 2495 (min) of estate Waghama,” an official said, adding that one of the demolished shops was constructed by Sajad Ahmad Rather, son of Mohammad Abdullah, a resident of Waghama.
 
The district administration reiterated its resolve to act decisively against drug peddlers, narcotics networks, and illegal land occupants. Authorities warned that similar drives will continue with full intensity under the Nasha Mukht campaign to ensure a drug-free society.
 
Strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in such illegal activities in the future the official added. (KNS)
