Handwara, 10 june (KNS): Residents of various villages of Mawer area of Qalamabad Monday said in times of Covid-19 Pandemic they are with portable drinking water from last two days and the concerned department is nowhere.

 According to reports, the villages includes Haril, Audoora and Tali Mohala Audoora are without drinking water.

 The residents of these areas said they are being forced to fetch the water from nearby streams which pose them the threat to get infected with waterborne disease.

 A senior resident of Haril said from the last 15 days we are without drinking water and despite informed several times to the Jal Shakti department they are paying no heed to our pleas.

The inhabitants of Haril accuses, sarpanch for not approaching concerned department, despite repeated requests, they added. 

 The residents of these areas have urged the higher officials of the Jal Shakti department to restore the drinking water facility to these areas.(KNS)
