14 years prove insufficient for construction of Revenue building in Kralgund Langate, admin in dormancy

Srinagar, Sept 26 (KNS): People of Kralgund area of north Kashmir’s Langate constituency on Saturday expressed dismay over sluggish efforts of authorities who failed to complete the left construction work on a revenue building on which work was taken up a decade ago.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a revenue building in Kralgund Langate constructed fourteen years ago but has been left midway by concerned authorities. Sources told KNS that the construction work on the said building was taken up in 2005-2006 by Rural Development Department with an estimated amount of rupees 06 lacs, however the building is not being handed over to concern department despite passing of 14 years.
Locals told KNS that all the departments in Kralgund Tehsil including Tehsil office, Revenue department and others are functioning in rented buildings. He said the administration has taken up the case of building decade ago but failed to accomplish its work on time which led the departmental affairs into messy.
“This is how administration is wasting public money. 14 years of time is still insufficient for the administration to complete the building and to make it functional for public issues”, locals told KNS.
Locals expressed anger against the authorities saying they have started to construct another structure adjacent to this revenue building which has not been completed due to sluggish approach of authorities.
“Administration has taken up the construction of Panchayat building adjacent to already existed building, which vindicates the weak and sluggish plans of administration”, locals added.
They urged district administration Kupwara to resume the left work on the revenue building and complete it at an earliest for the larger benefit of people.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Bashir Ahmad while talking to KNS expressed surprise and said that the matter has never been brought to his notice. He thanked the reporter and assured all required details about the abandoned building will be collected and soon left work will be resumed. (KNS)
