13th NIA Day celebrations held at BR Ambedkar International Centre New Delhi

 
Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNS): National Investigation Agency on Thursday celebrated its 13th NIA dat at Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. 
 
According to a statement, the 13th NIA Day was celebrated in the presence of the Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah.
 
The statement reads that Mos Home Ajay Kumar Mishra and Nisith Pramanik had graced the occasion along with DIB Shri Aravind Kumar, Secretary (R) Samant Goel and CP Delhi Rakesh Asthana, DCBI Subodh Kumar Jaiswal and senior officials of the CAPFs, CPOs and Ministries posted in Delhi.
 
It reads that the celebration marked the medal investiture ceremony of 22 officials of the NIA for Distinguished Service, 9 for Meritorious Service, 8 recipients of UHM Medal for Excellence in Investigation and 2 recipients of UHM Medal for Excellence in Training).
 
Speaking on the occasion DG NIA, Kuldiep Singh briefed about the progress of NIA since its formation and shared about the impact of NIA towards terror related offences and steps taken by the Government to strengthen NIA.
 
While congratulating the medal winners, UHM Amit Shah appreciated the qualitative
investigation of NIA achieved in a short period of 13 years. 
 
He also appreciated the conviction rate of the NIA which stands at 93.25% as on date and asked the organization to set out its goals for
2047 in a way that NIA makes a mark both nationally and internationally. 
 
He emphasized on the requirement for scientific investigation for evidence collection and on institutionalisation of procedures and processes developed by NIA. 
 
He also directed NIA to coordinate with other
agencies involved in countering terrorism and pitch resources for creation of a National database of information pertaining to terrorists and terrorism. (KNS)
