Surrendered persons will be recruited as SPO’s: SDPO Rafiabad

Baramulla, Feb 19 (KNS): At least 12 persons involved in illicit Timber smuggling and against whom cases were registered on Friday surrendered voluntarily before SDPO Rafiabad Shabir Ahmad Khan in presence of DFO Langate and Deputy Director Forest protection Force Rafiabad along with other officials.
Pertinent to mention here is that from previous some months Sopore police along with Forest Protection force tightened its noose against forest smugglers.
According to KNS correspondent Iqbal Amin, SDPO Rafiabad while feeling happy for the surrendered, speaking on the occasion said that Police along with civil administration will try to give first preference to accommodate these persons for different types of work for their livelihood.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
SDPO Rafiabad said that these persons will also be recommended and preference would be given to them when in future SPOs recruitment would be conducted.
While speaking on the occasion DFO Langate said that it is a unique moment for all of us that these smugglers have come with their own consent to surrender and Forest department would be accommodating them as daily wagers in future whenever there would be plantation drive or other Forest work.
Deputy Director Forest Protection Force Rafiabad also spoke on the occasion and welcomed the persons who surrendered.
Persons from civil society also participated and appreciated the work of Police and Forest department. (KNS)
