11th Death Anniversary of Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari (RA) Observed Across Kashmir with Reverence

Srinagar, Sept 30 (KNS) : The 11th death anniversary of Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari (RA) was observed with deep respect and emotion across Jammu & Kashmir under the banner of the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA). Thousands of Momineen and Mominaat joined in prayers, Qur’an Khwani, Marsiya Khwani, and Majalis to remember the towering personality whose absence is still deeply felt in the religious, social, and political life of the Valley.

The commemorations began on the evening of 29th September at Baba Mazaar, Gasiyar Zadibal, where large gatherings took part in Fateh Khani, Qur’an Khwani, and Marsiya recitations. At the same time, similar programs were held at Darul Jawad, Qamarwari, the residence of Maulana Ansari (RA), where family, friends, and followers paid rich tributes to his life of service and sacrifice.

On the morning of 30th September, Qur’an Khwani and Fateh Khani continued at Baba Mazaar, followed by Marsiya recitations that filled the air with remembrance and reflection. The central program of the day was held at Imam Bargah Shadipora, which saw day-long proceedings from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Scholars, Zakireen, and respected personalities addressed the gathering, with Maulana Ali Haider Farishta of Hyderabad, representative of Ayatullah Sistani, delivering a heartfelt sermon on the legacy and teachings of Ahlulbait (AS) and Maulana Ansari (RA). His words touched the hearts of many, reminding people of the unshakable commitment Maulana Ansari (RA) had towards the cause of truth, justice, and service to the community.

Beyond the religious gatherings, Kashmir witnessed a unique wave of creative tributes. An art competition was organized in which children and young artists drew portraits of Maulana Ansari (RA).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThese works of love and devotion were later displayed across Srinagar at places such as Hawal, Batamaloo, Polo View, Kashmir University, Airport Road, and Hasanabad. In the evening, a special 52-minute documentary on the life and struggles of Maulana Ansari (RA) was telecast, capturing his four decades of service. Those who had been closely associated with him shared moving memories, painting a picture of a leader who stood by his people till his last breath.

The 11th anniversary also found space in the Valley’s media, as all leading newspapers carried special quarter-page tributes to Maulana Ansari (RA). His life and mission were also remembered in the messages of several political and social leaders. Sajad Gani Lone President of JKPC, along with President Apni Party Altaf Bukhari, DDC Chairperson Baramulla Safina Baig, and senior JKPC figures including Abdul Gani Vakil, Bashir Dar , Abbas Wani, Irfan Pandithpuri, and Sheikh Imran, issued statements of remembrance. They described him as a guiding light for the people of Jammu & Kashmir one whose vision and courage continue to inspire even after more than a decade of his passing.

The atmosphere across Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir reflected both grief and pride. Grief, for the loss of a leader who was a voice for the voiceless. Pride, for having had a figure like Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari (RA) whose legacy of faith, wisdom, and courage endures. The day-long commemorations were not just rituals, but a collective reaffirmation that his mission lives on in the hearts of the people.(KNS)
