11 years on, work on Gundipora Beerwah PHC still incomplete

Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNS): 11 years on, Construction of Primary Health Center (PHC) in Gundipora village of Budgam District is still incomplete.

Speaking to Kashmir news service (KNS), residents of Gundipora said that the construction Of PHC was started in the year 2010 and due to the slow pace of work funds meant for PHC lapsed in 2014.
It led to the halt in the construction work of PHC, locals said.
"At Present, PHC is functional in a small building where a limited number of facilities are available for Patients," they said.
Farooq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Gundipora, told Kashmir news service (KNS) that the Govt had allotted Rs 1 crore and 78 Lakh for its construction under (NABARD) and  Rs 1 crore and 29 lakh has been spent on it while 48 lakhs have lapsed.
He said ist storey of PHC is almost complete but the second storey is incomplete.
"The other PHC's in the district is functioning normally for Patients, but this has been left midway for want of meagre amount of funds," he said
He further added that they have approached concerned officials regarding this issue many times but unfortunately nothing has been done till date. (KNS)
