Srinagar, July 7 (KNS): In a remarkable display of professionalism and swift medical response, the 108 Ambulance team successfully conducted an emergency on-scene delivery in Nowgam, District Srinagar, during the early hours of Monday.
At approximately 1:17 AM, the 108 Emergency Control Room received a distress call regarding a pregnant woman in active labor. The patient, identified as Ashmta Ghimire (26), a resident of Nepal working as a laborer in Nowgam, was reported to be experiencing intense labor pains and required immediate medical assistance.
The nearest stationed 108 ambulance was promptly dispatched and reached the location without delay. After assessing the situation, the team quickly moved the patient into the ambulance. Following Dr. Azam's instructions and taking all necessary medical precautions, the ambulance team safely conducted the delivery on-site at 1:55 AM, bringing a healthy male child into the world.
Both mother and newborn were stabilized and then transported safely to LD Hospital, where they were admitted for further medical observation and care.
The patient’s family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 108 ambulance staff, praising their timely intervention and compassionate care, which they said “saved the lives of both mother and child.”
