1.5 lakh golden cards issued through SDH Sopore, CSC Centres : Officials

Sopore  Feb 21: (KNS) In Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore with its correspondent CSC's, nearly 1.5 lakh individual golden cards have been issued under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme, official data reveals. 
 
As per the officials, under Sehat scheme, 1.5 lakh health-golden or Sehat-cards have been issued to individuals and around 900 beneficiaries had availed it's facility from Sopore hospital. 
 
Since the launch of this scheme at least 1.5 golden cards have been issued and about 886 above patients have been treated in Sopore hospital empalled for this scheme, I/C PMJAY, Sopore Mudasir Nazir said. 
 
Besides, in J&K 14.56 lakh families are eligible under PMJAY- Sehat, whereas 9.57 lakh (65.72 percent) of families have received their health cards and are covered under this scheme.
 
Officials however, urged the common masses to register themselves for the Sehat Card and avail the benifits. 
 
A 40-year-old man from Sopore village, whose mother is being treated under PMJAY Sehat Scheme from last 25 days has extended gratitude to the Government for providing assistance for the treatment. 
 
"Sehat card helped us a lot, as our financial condition is not good. It was impossible without this scheme," he said. Expressions of relief and joy were mirrored on his face. 
 
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2020 launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme which aims is to extend health insurance coverage to all residents of Jammu and Kashmir. 
 
It provides free-of-cost insurance cover to all the residents of the Jammu and Kashmir.  It also provides financial cover up to Rs 5 Lakh per family on a floater basis.(KNS)
