'Welcome to Kashmir' movie by Tariq Bhat all set to hit big screen

Srinagar, May 02 (KNS): Film director Tariq Bhat is all  set to release Bollywood movie "Welcome to Kashmir" with locals playing lead roles. The subject of the film is based on drug addiction among youth of Kashmir, women empowerment and the real Kashmir issues. 


According to a statement, the film is produced by Filmstock Creations and the associate producer of this film is Niharika Tariq.

Ahmad Shahab from Srinagar is the male lead in the movie while Mateena Rajput, who has appeared in numerous ads of J&K tourism is the female lead. 

The film is primarily shot in the Sopore, Watlab, Wular Lake, Rampora Rajpora, and many other locations in Kashmir, including Gurez Valley and Srinagar.

The script of this film is written by Tariq Bhat and associate writer Ashpak Mujawar. 

The casting for the movie is done by Umar Adil, who has all the knowledge of Kashmir while Peerzada Tahir has worked as media supervisor for this movie. 

Tariq Bhat said that other Bollywood filmmakers are filming in Kashmir and making movies worth 100 crore, but every single movie portrays Kashmir in a negative light and Kashmiris as villains.

"Welcome To Kashmir is the first of its kind which sheds light on the positive side of Kashmir. The film has two songs and the duration of the film will be 120 minutes on screen with U/A Censor Certificate. 
Official Trailer will be out on May 6. We believe we can connect to Kashmiri youth as well as the entire world," he said. (KNS)
