Srinagar, Jan 05 (KNS): Demanding stern action against the involved persons in alleged molestation incident at medical college Jammu, a group of students from Ladakh on Thursday staged demonstration demanded stern punishment.
A group of students from Ladakh who are studying at different colleges in the Valley assembled at Srinagar’s press enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.
The students who were holding banners displaying ‘stop violence against women’ were demanding stern action against the culprits involved in molestation of a Ladakhi girl student at government medical college Jammu on dec20 last year.
A group of students while talking to KNS said that a girl student from Ladakh who is currently studying at Jammu Medical College has been allegedly molested by the college authorities.
“It is not the first time that girl student has been molested. The government must take stern against all those involved in such kind of heinous crimes,” they said, adding that the accused person involved in the crime is roaming free as the authorities have failed to take action against him.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that a girl must not feel insecure in the educational institute. “Those black sheep’s who are defaming the educational sector must be dealt with strictly so that the girl student could feel a sigh of relief,” they said.
They appealed authorities to take strict action against the HOD of the department. “The persons involved in such crimes should be hanged till death so that no one could dare in future to do such crimes,” they demanded.
Pertinently, on December 20 a girl student hailing from Ladakh, pursuing MBBS from GMC Jammu alleged that she was molested by the HOD forensic labs, Bupesh Khajuria.
She has filed an FIR against the HOD. (KNS)
