Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNS): Former Parliamentarian and PDP Chief Spokesperson Dr. Mehboob Beg has lauded the 'Ladli Beti' scheme launched by Mehbooba Mufti and termed it as a monumental step in safeguarding the social fabric in the state.
The disturbing drop in the female-male ratio has been eating into the social fabric of the state and issues like female infanticide need to be addressed, Beg said in a statement to KNS.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Dr. Mehboob Beg also stated that all social as well as political organisations must come together and hail this step.
Dr. Beg also stressed that female infanticide must be denounced by one and all and all possible social steps for the welfare of women must be undertaken on war footing. The scheme will take effect from April 2015 said Beg. (KNS)
