Law Minister visits Devar, assures tracking down missing youth

Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNS): Minister for Law and Rural Development Department Abdul Haq Khan today visited Devar in Lolab area of Kupwara district where people were protesting youth's disappearance and assured them that the missing youth would be tracked down.
Manzoor Ahmad Khan of Kakarpati Devar, who is also relative of the minister, along with another local Nasrullah Khan were picked up by 27 RR of army for questioning few days ago and were allegedly beaten to pulp. Later, as per locals, one youth Nasrullah was released but whereabouts of another are not known.
Meanwhile, the disappearance of the youth triggered protests after Eid prayers today in Devar area amd demanded whereabouts of the youth from army.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The minister told KNS that he rushed to Devar today and asked people to maintain calm.
"I urged them not to take law into their hands and assured that the missing youth would be tracked down soon," he told KNS.
The minister also assured people that strict action would be taken against the concerned army men who beat them to pulp.
Among others officials who accompanied the minister included DC Kupwara Khalid Jehangir. (KNS)
