Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS): Police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang of extortionists and have recovered laptop, printer and other things from their possession.
Station House Officer (SHO) Nowgam, Manzoor Ahmad told KNS that a gang of extortionists was busted in which two persons were arrested who he identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Mir, resident of Lasjan and Muhammad Younis Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, resident of Gundcheck pora.
“The duo were using Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) posters and were demanding huge amount of Rs 50,000,00 from Maqbool Ahmad of Gundcheck Pora,” SHO said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that a case under FIR no 14/2017, under section, 419, 387, 511, 506 RPC has been registered in this regard.
The officer informed that they recovered Laptop, Printer and seal from their possession.
Meanwhile, Inhabitants of the area hailed the police action and said, “We salute the officer who has busted this gang.” (KNS)
