Srinagar, Feb 22 (KNS): Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday said that ‘double standards and judicial unfairness’ with Kashmiri inmates is highly painful.
While expressing his dismay over the condition of inmates languishing in various jails and police stations, Malik in a statement issued to KNS said that Kashmiri prisoners especially lifers and those incarcerated under black law PSA are facing hardships.
Terming the ‘oppression’ unleashed against prisoners as ‘most condemnable’, JKLF chairman said that the plight of prisoners especially lifers like Doctor Muhammad Qasim, Doctor Muhammad Shahfi Shariati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Abdul Hamid Teeli, Mushtaq Ahmad Malla, Maqsood Ahmad Butt, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh Baderwah, Ghulam Muhammad Butt Beerwah, Feroz Ahmad Tral, Pervaiz Ahmad Tral , Muhammad Ishaaq Paul and others is ‘deplorable’.
He said that these people have been in jails from long time and one Abdul Hamid Teeli’s mother also died recently and he was not allowed to attend her funeral prayers and last rituals.
JKLF chairman said that people who have been put behind bars under PSA are facing ‘discrimination’ and even ‘judicial unfairness’ as from many days judiciary is not even listening to their cases in a fair manner and is prolonging their incarceration.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that many JKLF leaders and activists including JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, District president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Kupwara, Assadullah Sheikh of Kulgam, Molvi Reyaz of Sopore, Sahib Khan Trehgam, Master Muhammad Ibrahim of Wilgam Kupwara are in jails or police stations tolerating hardships of oppressors with patience and zeal.
While expressing grief over ‘the martyrdom of Waseem Ahmad Tokher of Suchh Kulgam who was hit by hundreds of bullets and embraced martyrdom yesterday’, JKLF chairman said, “One more Kashmiri has fallen to the pellet terrorism of India.”
Malik expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of mother of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Maisuma.
Deceased was grandmother of JKLF senior member Muhammad Younis.
JKLF chairman along with other senior leaders attended her funeral prayers and expressed his condolences to her bereaved family. While praying for her heavenly abode, JKLF chairman also prayed for patience to her bereaved family. (KNS)
