In execution of their noble temperament and spirit of selfless service, CRPF again proved their incredible mettle by successfully conducting Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2015, despite serious threats of terrorist strike & apprehensions of disturbances, spokesman of the force said in a statement issued to KNS.
“Besides providing security cover to all pilgrims and locals during entire pilgrimage, CRPF also portrayed their noble visage while acting suo-motu, when incidents of Cloud Bursts occurred during pilgrimage. Several teams of CRPF along with their Officers and Doctors rescued several Pilgrims & locals who were trapped due to cloud burst,” he said.
CRPF is the main nodal security agency to provide security cover to Amarnath yatra. As par practice of previous years, CRPF deployed large number of troops this year as well. 67 companies including mahila troopers were deployed for the security of yatri convoys from Jammu to Pahalgam & Baltal besides providing security on both the routes of yatra on Pahalgam & Baltal axis. Although it was a joint effort with other security forces & agencies but CRPF officers & men had to toil hard being deployed on all important/sensitive places & tasks.
