Bandipora, Feb 12 (KNS): At a time when unemployment continues to be a major concern among educated youth, a young postgraduate from Bandipora has turned challenge into opportunity by establishing his own café in the main town.
Umar Khan, who holds a PG degree in Microbiology, recently inaugurated his venture “Cravings Café”, marking a significant step towards self-employment and local job creation. The café has already started attracting customers and earning appreciation from residents.
Instead of waiting for a government job, Umar chose the path of entrepreneurship, aiming not only to build his own future but also to generate employment opportunities for others. Speaking about his initiative, he said that unemployment remains a serious issue, and youth must explore innovative avenues rather than relying solely on traditional career paths.
“My aim was not just to open a café, but to create something productive that supports me and also provides work to others. We need to change the mindset and start believing in self-employment,” Umar said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He added that education should empower young people to think beyond conventional options. “No matter what your academic background is, hard work and determination can help you succeed in any field,” he remarked.
The café was inaugurated in the presence of prominent local figures including President of Traders Federation Bandipora, Ali Mohammad, along with family members and well-wishers. Locals have welcomed the initiative, calling it a positive example for other unemployed youth in the district.
Residents believe such ventures can gradually contribute to reducing unemployment in the area by promoting entrepreneurship and small businesses. Many have lauded Umar’s courage in stepping into business despite having qualifications in a completely different field.
With Cravings Café, Umar Khan has not only opened a new eatery in town but has also set an example of how determination and innovative thinking can transform unemployment challenges into opportunities for growth and community development.(KNS)
