Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): Dukhtaran-e-Millat Thursday expressed serious concern and anguish over the continuous house arrest of its chairperson Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi.
“Police have placed Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi under continued house detention since she was released from Baramulla Sub Jail, without producing any government or court order. Nor has she been told under which act or section she has been detained,” said Nahida Nasreen, Secretary General of DeM, in a statement issued to KNS.
“This is extreme frustration on part of the puppet regime,” she said.
Nasreen said that Aasiyah Andrabi has been detained as political vendetta and her movement has been crippled.
She said the personal life of Aasiya has got impacted and termed the house detention of Aasiya worst than that of a jail.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“What is the fun of releasing someone when she is to be detained at her home,” Nasreen questioned?
Nasreen said that the family of Aasiya have expressed deep concern and anguish over her continued detention and have decided to move to the court.
“The family members of Aasiya have informed us that they will move to the state high court against the detention,” Nasreen said quoting family sources of Aasiyah Andrabi.
“Aasiyah’s family including her son, who was recently operated upon have encountered serious difficulties. The ailing Aasiyah has to see a doctor herself since she is also suffering from various ailments,” she said. (KNS)
