Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNS): Cabinet Minister Javaid Rana criticized Srinagar MP Syed Aga Ruhullah for what he described as contradictory behavior engaging publicly only to later criticize his own party. “What has he been accomplishing in Parliament?” Rana asked. “His role as a National Conference MP is to represent Jammu and Kashmir. He was sent to Delhi for the specific purpose of raising our issues there.”

Speaking exclusively with news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Minister Rana said MP Srinagar Syed Aga Ruhullah was attempting to position himself as “the hero of the reservation issue,” but asserted that “he is not its hero.”

“Reservation is not his issue alone; it is an issue for everyone. It is your issue, it is my issue,” the Minister said.

He said, “I belong to a reserved category and represent those within it, but I also represent those outside these categories. The Jammu and Kashmir government is an administration for all, not for any single community or group. This is why the Omar Abdullah-led government constituted a cabinet committee, heard all stakeholders, and the cabinet gave it a final shape before sending it to the Lieutenant Governor.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Now, if Aga Ruhullah wants to protest, he should do so against the Lieutenant Governor. Why is he not speaking on that? But I am confident the LG will definitely redress the issue. How long can the LG keep the file pending? However, they do not even engage in discussion there and instead try to blame the Jammu and Kashmir government. In my view, Ruhullah is acting against organisational discipline,” Minister Rana said.

Speaking on Article 370, statehood, Minister Rana said, “We are already pursuing the matter. A resolution was passed earlier and sent by the cabinet for approval. It was also passed in the assembly by the National Conference with a majority. Even recently, our MPs who are in Parliament are advocating for it doing so effectively, even better than Ruhullah.”

He said the party’s MPs had recently represented Jammu and Kashmir “forcefully” in the Rajya Sabha and had also met with the Home Minister regarding the issues of the Union Territory.

“The National Conference is representing Jammu and Kashmir through proper channels and is raising every issue, including statehood,” he affirmed. (KNS)
