“Rajya Sabha Voting Was a Fixed Match Between NC and BJP”: Mir Mohammad Fayaz

Kupwara, May 7 (KNS) : Senior PDP leader and MLA Kupwara, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the National Conference over the Rajya Sabha voting controversy, alleging that the entire episode was a “fixed match” between the NC and the BJP.

Speaking to reporters in Kupwara, Fayaz accused the NC leadership of attempting to mislead the public through what he termed as baseless allegations against the PDP for political gains ahead of upcoming elections.
He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are now politically aware and can no longer be deceived by “old political tactics.” According to Fayaz, the National Conference has been “misguiding people for decades” and is once again trying to create confusion among voters.

The PDP leader said the NC should first explain why the promises made in its election manifesto have not been fulfilled instead of targeting other parties. He alleged that the ruling party had failed to deliver on major commitments made to the public.

Criticising Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Fayaz claimed the government was failing to address public grievances and questioned the delay in cabinet formation, alleging internal dissatisfaction within the ruling setup.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He also challenged NC leader Tanvir Sadiq to substantiate allegations regarding the Rajya Sabha voting and clarify which candidate the PDP had allegedly supported.

Taking a dig at Sajad Gani Lone, Fayaz alleged that abstaining from voting had indirectly benefited the BJP. He further claimed that the controversy surfaced only after information obtained through an RTI came into the public domain.

Questioning the National Conference’s changing political stand, Fayaz said Farooq Abdullah had earlier publicly thanked the PDP, but the same party was now accusing it of betrayal.
He alleged that the NC leadership was trying to divert public attention from governance failures by raising the Rajya Sabha issue and maintained that “people will no longer be misled.” (KNS)
