NC Holds mega party Convention in Khari

Banihal July 17 (KNS);  Sending out a message of unity among the people, asking people in general and party workers in particular to “unite against forces who attempt to destroy our state and divide its people", National Conference leader and district president, Ramban Mr Sajjad Shaheen on sunday said that “Nowadays, people of this state are facing a great crisis and are concerned whether their democratic, constitutional and fundamental rights will continue to exist adding that every citizen has democratic and fundamental rights, freedom of speech, property rights and right to education. However, we are now facing a genuine crisis where ‘divide and rule’ is being made into a law. He was speaking in a day-long workers convention held at the main market Khari and was organized by the party's block committee Khari in which large numbers of party functionaries, office bearers, local DDC counselor, Delegates, Sarpanches, Panches besides prominent workers of the party participated.

While addressing the party workers Shaheen said that “all permutations and combinations by opponents will fall flat and the party will form government in Jammu and Kashmir with absolute majority” whenever elections are held in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir adding that  the “political chemistry developing on ground zero ahead of assembly elections will surprise all including the political pundits”.

“Jammu and Kashmir is bubbling with enthusiasm to have a strong, stable and responsive government under the banner of National Conference as the people of Jammu and Kashmir have made their mind to give a massive mandate to it since the beurocratic culture under the present dispensation  has proven detrimental to the interests of the state”. Shaheen said.

He further said that the communal forces were destined to get decimated in the ensuing assembly elections when ever they are held in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir saying that “there was no alternative to National Conference as the party has strived for ensuring peace and undertaking development during most testing times.

He described National Conference as a deep rooted public movement, which, he said, believes in single entity of the State and has been striving for assuaging the politico-developmental aspirations of all segments of people. He referred to the historic role of National Conference in generating political awakening and making the people masters of their own destiny. He also referred to the historic role played by National Conference in strengthening democracy and forging the bonds of amity between various sections of the people.

“Workers of NC are epitome of sacrifice and selfless service who have withstood all challenges and proven their loyalty towards people, party and its leadership,” he said. The party’s objective has never been power but dignity and development of the state and people, adding that “There have been conspiracies against us in the past and it still is continuing as political parties are being created in every nook and corner of the erstwhile State to divide us.

Shaheen further said that ”NC is the only party with credible footprints in all 90 Assembly constituencies of the state”. Taking a dig at political soothsayers, he said those patting their backs over standing in the state’s political sphere and claiming to form next government in J&K will not find enough candidates to field from all constituencies.
