Srinagar, May 23 (KNS): Hurriyat Conferences and JKLF Monday forged “issue based unity” on the recent controversial issues and decided to hold joint programmes to counter “RSS’s anti-Kashmir plans”.
Soon after the joint meeting of Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chief Yasin Malik, the amalgam called for shutdown on May 26(Thursday).
Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar, in a statement to KNS, said that the shutdown on May 26and protests on May 27 (Friday) were announced against the recent “anti-Kashmir” polices, including setting up of Sainik colonies, cluster townships for Kashmiri migrant pandits, industrial policy and the “threatening” remark of Lal Singh.
The joint meeting of the three leaders, and the announcement of shutdown is the fallout of the recent statements where the leaders insisted unity of the separatist groups.
