Srinagar June 27 (KNS): A three-day intensive training programme on Poultry Entrepreneurship, organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI)-Kashmir in association with the Manager Poultry Production, Hariparbat-Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir, and supported by SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India), concluded successfully today in Kupwara. The programme, held from June 24 to June 26, 2025, aimed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish and manage profitable poultry ventures, thereby creating viable industry opportunities for the youth of Kashmir.
The training featured sessions conducted by a team of renowned poultry experts and business professionals, including Dr. Afaq Amin Najar, Officer Incharge, Farmers Training Class, Hariparbat, Dr. Abbas Rashid, VAS SU Khurhama, Dr. Peer Abdul Faheem, VAS Handwara, Dr. Ujala Nabi Khan, AMP Shumnag, Dr. Asif Majeed, VAS Kandi, Dr. Aamir Suhail, VAS Doonwari, Dr. Mehvish Santosh, VAS Kalaroos, Dr. Safoora Kashafi, VAS DVH Kupwara. The Key Highlights of the Programme include the Comprehensive Training Covered poultry farming techniques, disease management, feed formulation, and business strategies, Financial & Market Insights – Interactive sessions on financial planning, market linkages, and government schemes ,Hands-on Learning – Practical demonstrations and case studies for real-world application. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Teli, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kupwara, emphasized the department’s commitment to supporting budding entrepreneurs through technical assistance and government schemes. He highlighted the growing demand for poultry products in the region, presenting a lucrative business opportunity for new ventures. Certificates were distributed to participants, marking their successful completion of the training. Many expressed gratitude, stating that the programme transformed their perspective on poultry farming and instilled confidence to launch their own businesses.
In the coming weeks, PHDCCI, the Animal Husbandry Department, and SIDBI will conduct similar training programmes in Baramulla, Bandipora, and Ganderbal districts. The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to providing continuous mentorship, handholding, and guidance to ensure the success of new poultry entrepreneurs in the region.
