Srinagar, Sept 25 (KNS): Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi today called upon the Jammu and Kashmir Government to address the long-pending recruitment concerns of agriculture graduates and review the existing recruitment structure affecting the Agriculture cadre.

Inam Un Nabi said that there has been no recruitment in the Gazetted Agriculture cadre for nearly 20 years, while recruitment in the Non-Gazetted cadre has remained largely absent for around a decade, creating serious difficulties for qualified agriculture graduates seeking entry into government service.

He said the entry-level Non-Gazetted post has been kept under 100% promotional quota, leaving agriculture graduates with virtually no direct entry at that level. At the Gazetted level, only 20% quota has been earmarked for direct recruitment, which, according to the graduates, further restricts opportunities for professionally qualified youth.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Qualified agriculture graduates cannot be expected to wait indefinitely for an opportunity to enter the government service. The recruitment structure needs to be examined objectively, vacancies identified and a regular recruitment mechanism put in place,” Inam Un Nabi said.

He urged the concerned authorities to review the existing quota and recruitment framework, fill vacant posts through a transparent recruitment process and provide adequate avenues of direct recruitment for agriculture graduates.

“Agriculture is a key sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy. Strengthening the department also requires strengthening its professional human resources. The legitimate concerns of agriculture graduates deserve serious consideration by the government,” he said.(KNS)
