 SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 26:(KNS) Zadibal Medical Block under the aegis of Directorate Health Services Kashmir today organized a felicitation ceremony in Srinagar to appreciate Covid warriors who have been at the forefront of fighting the pandemic for more than two years now.  

 
Spokesperson DHSK, Dr Mir Mushtaq said the program was organized by PHC Zadibal to appreciate the concerted efforts of health workers in mitigation of Covid-19.
 
Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather presided over the function. He hailed the contribution of Covid warriors and said that they were at the forefront at difficult situations and helped in the mitigation of the virus.
 
He said health care workers should continue their good work which has been recognized by the administration of Union Territory of J&K and Union Government.
 
On the occasion, the director said that schools will reopen as announced already and the government was prepared for it at all levels.
 
“We are ready for the opening of the schools. SOPs are to be followed from home to reaching school. SOPs should be followed in school buses. At the school entrance, there would be thermal scanning,” he said.
 
“Use of sanitizers and cleanliness will be there. There would be random testing. If any student tests positive they will be properly isolated,” he said.
 
He also thanked the media for informing people about the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination adding that there has been a good response to vaccination in the 15-17 age group.
 
“Vaccination in the age group of more than 60-year-age with co-morbidities stands completed. Vaccination is important to mitigate the disease,” he said.
 
He said in every district, a pediatric ICU is being set up along with pediatric wards. Now every district has an oxygen facility and there will be tertiary-level treatment now available at the doorstep.
 
“People of Kupwara and Kulgam will have these facilities in their districts. Within two months, the entire system will get started and this is a game-changer,” he said.
 
The director also urged people not to lower their guard and continue to maintain Covid-19 appropriate behavior.
 
On the occasion Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Srinagar, Dr Jameel Mir, Zonal Medical Officer (ZMO) Zadibal, Dr Rubeena besides officers and officials of the health department were present on the occasion.
 
While addressing the gathering CMO Srinagar, Dr Jameel Mir also appreciated the work of Covid-19 warriors and wished them all the best for future endeavors.
