Yateem Foundation celebrates 23rd Annual Day

 Speakers lay emphasis on coordination between CBO’s

 

 

Srinagar September 7(KNS)Jammu & Kashmir Yateem Foundation (JKYF) on Thursday organised its 23rd annual day in Srinagar which was attended by representatives of many community based organisations-CBOs , volunteers of JKYF and many social and religious leaders from different districts of Kashmir. Patron and Trustee of the foundation Syed Abdul Hameed gave a detailed account about the 23 years history of J&K Yateem Foundation and activities the organisation undertook in the last two decades. 

 

 

 

Speakers during the programme appreciated the work of Syed Abdul Hameed  for strengthening Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Foundation. Secretary General Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries -KCCI Faiz Bakshi who was chief guest during the programme urged upon the participants to work for orphans and ensure they get quality education. He cited quranic verses on orphans and impressed upon the NGOs and CBOs to work for upliftment of orphans and economically weaker sections of society.

 

Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat who was guest of honour during the programme said community based organisations -CBOs working in different sectors must collaborate and coordinate with each other so that more work is done on eradicating drug menace , environmental degradation and corruption. He also urged upon social and religious leaders to leave a pessimistic approach and work for society. " If social leaders become pessimistic and people associated with them get demoralised, which is a very dangerous trend" he said.

 

 

 

Dr Towseef Bhat Chairman Kashmir Concern also spoke on the occasion.  Javaid Iqbal Kripak Chairman Al Hilal Educational Institute addressed the gathering virtually from Kishtwar and appreciated work done by Yateem Foundation under the guidance of Syed Abdul Hameed. Religious scholar Tariq Jameel also addressed the function and spoke in detail about rights of orphans.

 

 

 

Chairman Yateem Foundation Dr M M Shuja who gave vote of thanks urged upon office bearers of Yateem Foundation to work in a coordinated manner and resolve all their internal issues through dialogue. He also urged upon coordination and collaboration between various community based organisations-CBOs and NGOs.(KNS)
