Reviews progress of vaccination, RTPCR/RAT sampling in the district

PULWAMA, JULY 16:(KNS)   The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today said that the vaccination is  a panacea  and  an agent of choice against the Covid and maintaining its efficacy has been established beyond any doubt across the world.

The DC said this while chairing a meeting of concerned officers of administration, health and others where he took first hand appraisal of the ongoing Covid vaccination and RTPCR/ RAT testing in the district. 

The meeting was apprised about the current staus of testing and vaccination processes being carried out in the district. It was informed that health department has increased the testing with special focus on RTPCR sampling for identifying the clusters and hot spots in the district besides getting a clear picture of level of infection in the population.

On the occasion, the DC stressed upon the concerned Medical officers for proper utilization of resources to vaccinate cent percent target population for achieving herd immunity and curbing the pandemic effectively. He called for intensifying the vaccination drives by mobilising the Asha workers, Anganwadi workers as well as PRI members and religious heads across the district.

Choudhary directed the concerned Officers to make coordinated efforts and take appropriate proactive measures so that resurgence of cases is prevented. 

Pertinent, to mention that District Pulwama has administered a total  2,63,445 doses of vaccines have been cumulatively given to different categories of beneficiaries in the district and the inoculation programme is going on smoothly.

The meeting was attended by ADC/CMO/ Dy CMO/ DIO/ BMOs/ Designated Nodal Officers of Blocks/ Nodal Officer Vaccinations/ Nodal Officer Covid Mitigation Efforts besides other officials and functionaries associated with Covid control and immunization programme. (KNS)
