Srinagar, June 29 (KNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir minister and ex-MLA Usman Majid on Monday criticised the ruling National Conference (NC) government, alleging that it had failed to fulfil its election promises and questioning the performance of the party's MLA from Bandipora.
Addressing a workers' convention at Aloosa in Bandipora district, Majid alleged that promises of free ration, free LPG cylinders and free electricity made during the Assembly elections had not been fulfilled.
He also took exception to the celebrations over the initiation of the survey process for the proposed Bandipora-Sumbal National Highway, saying the people deserved concrete development rather than announcements.
"The Bandipora-Sumbal National Highway is the dream of every citizen of Bandipora.

The former legislator questioned the achievements of the Bandipora MLA over the past two years and asked what commitments made in the election manifesto had been implemented.
Referring to a recent press conference by the MLA, Majid alleged that the legislator had admitted that his voice was not being heard and that Bandipora was being neglected, which, he claimed, reflected ineffective representation.
Calling on party workers to remain united, Majid urged them to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and work against what he termed divisive forces.(KNS).
