Usman Majid Accuses Authorities of Violating Teacher Transfer List in Bandipora

 Srinagar, July 06(KNS): Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Vice President Fromer Minister &  EX MLA Bandipora Usman Majid expresses deep concern over the recent actions of the Education Department, which have resulted in the violation of the annual transfer policy, that selected teachers from Bandipora and Sonawari have been transferred to Gurez that too in the middle of the academic session, causing immense disruption to both the affected teachers and their students.

 
Majid said that the annual transfer policy, established to ensure fairness, efficiency, and stability within the education system, outlines a systematic approach for teacher transfers. It is disheartening to witness the Education Department neglecting this crucial policy, thereby disregarding the best interests of our educators and compromising the quality of education received by our students.
 
Transferring teachers in the midst of an academic session has far-reaching consequences. It disrupts the familiar teacher-student dynamics, hampers continuity in lesson plans, and can adversely impact the academic progress of students who are in the midst of critical learning stages. Furthermore, it places an undue burden on teachers who are forced to adapt to new school environments and establish relationships with unfamiliar colleagues and students.The abrupt relocation of teachers to distant areas not only affects their personal lives but also has repercussions on the quality of education provided to students. Such transfers can lead to a loss of continuity in teaching, he added 
 
 The CEO has exercised authority to transfer teachers along with their respective posts. This situation raises significant concerns and prompts a critical examination of the processes and regulations in place. The authority of a CEO to effectuate teacher transfers, especially along with their posts, raises questions about the checks and balances within our education system. It is crucial to evaluate whether the decision-making process involving transfers is being influenced by external factors.
 
He said What is surprising here that many teachers and employees of the education department have not been transferred for the last 10 to 20 years. The minimum tenure of a government employee on a particular post should be two years which can be extended to a maximum of three years. However, some officials and teachers have not been transferred for 20 years, Majid said 
 
The Education Department must act swiftly to rectify this situation. It is imperative that they immediately halt any ongoing transfers that violate the annual transfer policy. The government must exercise its authority to ensure that our education system operates in accordance with established policies and safeguards the interests of both teachers and students.(KNS).
