Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNS): Several Kashmiri’s stuck outside Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has alleged Nodal Officers for not responding their calls. They appealed administration to take action of dereliction of duties by officials and ensure stranded people not to suffer in current circumstances.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), several residents of Jammu and Kashmir UT who are stranded in New Delhi alleged Nodal Officers of not responding their necessary calls. They said from last one month hundreds of Kashmiri’s are stuck inside four walls without having basic facilities for their survival.
They said J&K UT administration has deputed Nodal Officers for providing help to stranded Kashmiris in wake of lockdown and other restrictions but they have taken their duties for granted and doesn’t pay required attention to people in distress.
A 70-year old Abdul Rashid Pandit from Rawalpora area of district Srinagar who is presently stuck in Mahipalpur New Delhi alleged that a day before he dialed Nodal Officer Faizan-ul-Haq Iqbal on 9622200042 from his personal number 7889550955 but no body from other side respond to my call.
“I was unwell a day before and could not move. Due to lockdown I dialed Nodal Office Mr Faizan-ul-Haq Iqbal but he didn’t bother to respond my call”, Rashid said.
He also said that after failed to get help of Nodal Officer, a local boy somehow managed to rush me to nearby hospital for medical attention.
He appealed J&K administration to take strict action against dereliction of duties by officials at this juncture when people are badly suffering.
“If you are a resident of UTs of J&K and Ladakh and stranded out of the UTs in view of lockdown and you are having any problem relating to food, shelter, medicines etc. you can contact the following Nodal officers of J&K LSA Mr. Faizan-ul-Haq Iqbal: 9622200042 Ms Swati Gupta: 9419190340 J&K State Legal Services Authority at Your Service”, a Short Message Service (SMS) which was spread by J&K administration recently to concerned for any help.
Meanwhile after repeated attempts by KNS, the concerned Nodal Officer neither replied to text message nor did he bother to switch-on his mobile phone. (KNS)
