Bandipora, July 22 (KNS): In a major achievement for Bandipora district, Tulail Block in Gurez Valley has secured Rank 1 in Zone 1 (Hilly, North East & Islands) in the January–March 2026 Delta Rankings of NITI Aayog's Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP).

 

The recognition places Tulail among the country's best-performing Aspirational Blocks, reflecting remarkable progress in key development indicators through effective governance, improved public service delivery, and focused implementation of welfare schemes.

 

The achievement comes under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, whose administration has consistently focused on strengthening grassroots governance, accelerating developmental works, ensuring convergence of government schemes, and improving last-mile delivery of essential services in the remote border region of Gurez.

The Aspirational Blocks Programme, launched by NITI Aayog, evaluates blocks across the country based on their improvement in key socio-economic indicators. The national recognition is expected to further boost developmental initiatives in Tulail and inspire continued efforts to improve the quality of life in one of Jammu and Kashmir's most remote and strategically important regions.
