Tourism infrastructure requirement in Kupwara will be addressed: Secretary Tourism J&K

Kupwara, Dec 29 (KNS): Secretary Tourism & Culture J&K Syed Abid Rashid Shah Friday said that the tourism infrastructure requirements in north Kashmir’s Kupwara will be addressed very soon, as the frontier district possesses a massive tourist potential which will cater needs of tourism widely.

Speaking to reporters here on the sidelines of Viksit Bharat Sanklap Yatra in the district, Secretary Tourism & Culture J&K said that Kupwara district has huge potential of tourism which will be realized in coming times. He said the demands and requirements for promoting tourism in the district is under consideration and will be addressed soon.

He said the massive tourism potential in the district has a potential to provide employment to youth and other livelihood opportunities.

The district does not have just a one particular place to explore, but the entire district has massive tourism potential.  So far around, 1 lac tourists visited Tangdar and 60 thousand to Keran. The district has seen good number of tourist footfall everywhere, he said.

In near future all the tourism infrastructure requirements will be addressed. The basic concept we have applied in Kupwara is home stay and the locals are actively participating in the process. “It will be my message to everyone to participate in tourism activities to increase your employment opportunities,” he said.

“Kupwara is very beautiful place and famous all across the country. The recent award to Lolab valley is such an example of Kupwara beauty. I’m confident in near future the Kupwara will be a hotspot for tourists, Secretary Tourism & Cutlure J&K continued. (KNS)
