Sopore, June 21 (KNS): A top Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander and a foreigner were among the three militants killed in an encounter in Gund Brath area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday,   police said.

Inspector general of police Vijay Kumar said that Top LeT Commander identified as  Mudasir Pandit who was involved in killing of 03 policemen, 02 councillors and 02 civilians recently and other several millitancy crimes got killed in Sopore encounter, he said as per Kashmir News Service.

Foreign millitant identified as Asrar alias Abdullah, a resident of Pakistan was also killed in an encounter, IGP said adding that he was active since 2018 in North Kashmir.

The gunfight had started after police, army and CRPF launched joint cordon and search operation in the area following specific information about the presence militants.(KNS)
