Three Militants killed in Tral Encounter


Tral, June 26 (KNS): Three militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out in Chewa Ullar area of Tral in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
The gunbattle between militants and security forces had started on Thursday evening and went on till Friday morning.
The gunbattle was briefly halted at Thursday night.
Reports said that all the three militants have been killed in the exchange of fire. Two armed forces personnel may have also suffered injuries.
Officials have been confirmed that all the three militants are local youths who had taken up arms to join militancy. They belonged to the Tral area.
An official said A joint team police, Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) had launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
Officials had said that as the joint team of forces approached, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated and triggered an encounter.
Official source have identified the slain as Mohammad Qaasim Shah alias Jugnu, Basit Ahmad Parray and Haris Manzoor Bhat. Qaasim, a Madoora Tral resident and son of Gh Mohammad Shah, (KNS)
