Srinagar, Aug 4 (KNS): Thousands of mourners on Tuesday participated in Majalis-e-Aza, Marsiya Khwani and a traditional Zuljana procession organised by the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA) in Budibugh in Baramulla district and Zadibal here to commemorate the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala.
The day-long religious programmes were attended by devotees from different parts of the Valley, with religious sermons focusing on the significance of Karbala, Wilayat and Arbaeen.
Addressing a gathering at Budibugh, AJKSA president Molvi Imran Reza Ansari highlighted the importance of the Wilayat of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.), describing love and obedience to Imam Ali (A.S.) as the foundation of faith.
He said the message of Ghadeer represents a timeless covenant of justice, divine leadership and guidance, and urged believers to uphold the values of righteousness, unity and service to society.
Speaking on Arbaeen, Ansari said the occasion symbolises unwavering devotion to the ideals of Imam Hussain (A.

Later, a Majlis-e-Aza and Marsiya Khwani programme was held at Imam Bargah Zadibal, followed by the traditional Zuljana procession organised by the association. The procession began from Mohallah Syed Afzal and culminated at Imam Bargah Zadibal amid religious mourning.
Addressing the gathering at Zadibal, Ansari spoke about the spiritual significance of remembering Imam Ali (A.S.) and called upon believers to emulate his ideals of justice, courage and moral character.
He also recalled the return of Bibi Zainab (S.A.) to Madinah after the battle of Karbala, saying her patience and steadfastness ensured that the message of Imam Hussain's sacrifice continued to inspire generations in their pursuit of truth and justice.
The programmes concluded with special prayers for peace, justice, communal harmony and the well-being of people across the world, including prayers for the oppressed people of Palestine and Iran, organisers said.(KNS).
