Theft, fraud case solved in Srinagar, two accused arrested: Police

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said that it solved a theft and fraud case within hours by arresting two persons who had cheated and duped a gold smith shop owner by selling him duplicate gold at Hari Singh High Street area or Srinagar.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that yesterday Police Station Shaheed Gunj received a complaint from one Shoaib Ali Bulbul son of Mohammad Ali Bulbul of Nigeen Srinagar, who is running a gold smith shop at Hari Singh High Street that a gang of persons had cheated and duped him by selling duplicate gold as original worth lakhs.

He said that after receiving the complaint, a case FIR No 121/2021 U/S 379,420 IPC was registered in Police Station Shaheed Gunj and investigation was taken up.

“During the course of investigation police party of police station Shaheed Gunj arrested two persons namely Mohammad Ashraf Lone son of Ghulam Hassan Lone and Younis Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar—both residents of Anantnag and stolen gold worth lakhs was recovered from their possession,” he said.
