The bubble of PAGD has outlived its age & relevance, both: Chrungoo

Srinagar March 22:(KNS)   "The bubble of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has outlived both, its age and relevance for the constituents who created it last year. It was an experiment of 'conveniences' and couldn't be expected to be a longterm alternative to the conventional politics of the J&K state and especially the Kashmir valley", said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader and Incharge Deptt of Political Affairs and Feedback, J&K-BJP.

According to statment to "KNS' reads, Chrungoo who is currently on a weeklong tour of Kashmir valley visited ancient Kheer Bhawani shrine and the Pandit Colony, Sheikhpura-Budgam. He was interacting with the inmates there and listened to their concerns in the colony. He also paid his obeisance at the Kheerbhawani shrine on the occasion of Phalgun-Ashtami, which is also called "Teele-Aitham". In the valley, traditionally, it is the day which is considered as the constitutional ceremony of the winter season in Kashmir.

"Political activity and political parties in Jammu and Kashmir were earlier considered a domain exclusive for certain family feudal one-upmanship, others were virtually forbidden to lead public life due to various factors. The socio-political scenario post the developments of August 2019 has brought a sea change in the oversall situation. Politics and public life will now demand expression of an intent of service to the people. Humanitarian approach, nationalism, public welfare, greater good and development have come to stay as the important corner stones of public life", he said.

The continuous exodus from the premier regional parties, the NC and PDP, is an indicater of the future of politics in the valley. It was this fear that caused creation of the bubble of Gupkar Circus. The PDP is literally turned into 'Peoples Departure Party' while the leaders of NC have expressed their doubts about continuing their public life openly. In such a situation, masses have opted for the other alternative, such as BJP, that is stark and visible throughout the length and breadth of the Union Territory, the BJP leader added.

"Good, young, energetic and well qualified people need to join politics, public life and social cause leaving behind the murky past. There is a need to learn from mistakes and bring reform in the public life with accountability, transparency and answer-ability as the main plank guidelines. BJP has a mission ahead to bring a large scale positive change in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir for which we appeal to the good people to join the national mission led by the PM Narendra Modi", maintained Chrungoo.(KNS)
