Gurez 28March (KNS) As part of Project Sadbhavna, a positive step in the direction of kashmir's overall progress, Indian Army organised Gurez premier 

volleyball league for the youth of Gurez valley from 19 march to 28 march 2021.

 

Army organised Gurez Premier volleyball league at Gurez total of eight teams representing their villages participated with zeal and enthusiasm in race for the title. Sports impart a sense of team work, healthy lifestyle and allround personality growth for the youth..

 

After round of  keenly contested league matches , four teams namely Dawar, Kanzalwan, Markoot and Mastana advanced to semifinals.

 

The much awaited finals were played between Markoot and Kanzalwan teams at the Higher Secondary school Dawar.

 

The event attracted a large number of locals specially young school boys who enjoyed the thrilling finals. 

Kanzalwan team emerged victorious after winning in straight sets with scoreline 25-16, 28-26..

The players were awarded with medals and trophies by the chief guest.

 

The prize ceremony attended by civilian dignitaries ended with patriotic calls of Bharatmata ki Jai, followed by refreshments for the spectators and players.

 

The ambience and positive response  reflected by active participation and cheerful atmosphere throughout the event will surely help motivate the local youth towards a better future.

During the side lines the function the officials of Indian Army told KNS that in future more program will be conducted for youths> (KNS)
