Srinagar, July 22 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday announced re-imposition of lockdown across Kashmir Valley from today onwards till July 27 in wake of surge in Covid-19 caseloads and subsequent deaths.

Officials confirmed KNS that onwards today the strict lockdown will be re-imposed till July 27 in order to prevent spread of pandemic. “Further decisions whether to continue lockdown or announce relaxation will be taken after reviewing situation on ground”, official said.

It is pertinent to mention that since authorities announced lifting of curbs, there has been huge spike in Covid-19 positive cases and subsequent deaths which caused scare among public. Over 15,000 samples have been tested positive so far with 260 plus deaths. (KNS)
