SRINAGAR Oct 7 (KNS): Taking a serious note of corruption and open loot being committed by field staff of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) in Charar e Sharief circle-B of district Budgam Secretary to Government FCS & CA Simrandeep Singh has initiated a fast-track inquiry against a storekeeper who is posted at Jaden Chadoora and hold charge of more than 6 ration stores around the area. The official has been placed under suspension and attached with administrative department.
Storekeeper FCS & CA Tariq Nazir Jahara was providing 15 kgs rice to a consumer Mohammad Shafi Hajam being issued a BPL ration card number 181515 for 6 members. The storekeeper has been repeatedly telling Shafi Hajam that he was registered as 3 member family only but when Shafi verified the details from e-portal through some RTI volunteers he found he was registered as a BPL consumer with 6 family members . Activists brought the matter into notice of Secretary Food & Civil Supplies and within few hours the matter was got verified through AD Food Budgam. The officer indicted the storekeeper and without wasting any time Secretary directly issued a suspension order in favour of storekeeper vide Govt no : Government order No: FCS & CA/ Estt/101/2020 Dated 5.10.2020.
Locals of Chadoora and Charar e Sharief have hailed the action taken by Secretary Food. They have appealed him to take other corrupt officials to task.
"This is for the first time we have seen an Administrative Secretary issuing order of suspension against a storekeeper which is highly appreciable. Secretary food even directed for a fast-rack probe plus penalty which we have never seen before. I appeal secretary food to take action against other storekeepers as well who are looting poor citizens" said Abdul Majid a local resident of Charar e Sharief

“ Mr Tariq Nazir Jahara Storekeeper Govt ration store Jaden Charar e Sharief bearing e-POS No: 100200900007 is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and will be attached with administrative department for initiation of fast-track departmental action for major penalty proceedings “ (KNS)
