Handwara, Nov 06 (KNS): State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) took a significant step in raising awareness about organ donation on Monday at GMC Handwara aiming to encourage organ donation within the locality.
The event was attended by medical students, who received crucial insights into the importance of organ donation. They were motivated to consider becoming organ donors, a decision that can potentially save multiple lives.
Dr. Saleem Wani, a prominent doctor, addressed the audience. He emphasized the pressing need for organ donations in the Kashmir Valley, highlighting the high demand for organs in the valley. Dr. Wani also made a passionate appeal to religious leaders, urging ulemas to include messages about organ donation in congregational prayers. He explained that a single donor has the power to save up to eight lives by donating their organs. (KNS)
