Kupwara, Mar 20 (KNS): The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kupwara, Shobhit Saxena, has assured the public of the district that preparations are in full swing to hold free, fair, and peaceful elections.

“With safety as a top priority, all forces are working in close coordination, supplemented by central forces deployed for the upcoming polls,” he said while addressing media

Highlighting the significance of the forthcoming elections, SSP Saxena emphasised the commitment to thwart any disruptive activities originating from across the border. Kupwara, being situated in a sensitive location, requires vigilant measures to ensure the safety of voters and the integrity of the electoral process.

Furthermore, the success of the Public Durbar initiative, spearheaded by the Director General of Police (DGP), received overwhelming support during its inaugural session held in Kupwara. This initiative reflects the authorities' dedication to engaging with the public and addressing their concerns directly.

“With a concerted effort from law enforcement agencies, bolstered by the participation of central forces and the enthusiastic response to community engagement initiatives, Kupwara aims to set a precedent for peaceful and transparent elections despite challenging circumstances,” he added.(KNS)
