Srinagar Salesman’s Killing: Police say case solved, three accused arrested

Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the case of killing of a salesman by militants at Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar on November 09, by arresting three accused persons.

As per a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), spokesperson said that the Police have solved the murder of salesman of Mawa Shop by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

“On November 09, militants killed a civilian Ibrahim Ahmad, salesman at Sandeep Mawa’s shop near Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar. A case FIR No. 86/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Maharaj Gunj in this regard and to investigate the case a special investigation team was constituted,” reads the statement.

It reads that during the course of investigation, officers learnt about the involvement of three accused persons identified as Aejaz Ahmad Lone, Naseer Ahmad Shah and Showkat Ahmad Dar—all residents of Lelhar Pulwama in the case. Subsequently, they were arrested in and during questioning they confessed about their involvement,” it reads.

It reads that the preliminary investigations revealed that the accused trio, linked with LeT (TRF), have executed the attack on the directions of militant handler from across the border.

“It was further revealed that the trio have been in touch with Pak based militant handlers for the last 4 months. On their disclosure, weapon of offence - pistol along with 7 rounds and other incriminating materials including a grenade have been recovered from their possession. Besides, the Alto car which was used during the commission of crime on the day of attack has also been seized on their disclosure,” it reads.

The statement reads that further investigation in the case is going on. (KNS)
