 Gulmarg, Feb 21 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha Wednesday asserted that sports infrastructure in the Union Territory of J&K has been improved vastly and will get further boost in coming times.

He was speaking to reporters at the inaugural ceremony of 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games at world famous ski resort Gulmarg.

“People’s expectations rise when developments take place. The sports infrastructure in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been improved vastly in past few years and will get further boost in coming times,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as per KNS told reporters.

He said besides Gulmarg the sports infrastructure in borders districts of Jammu and Kashmir will also be improved.
“In present times 74 lac people of Jammu and Kashmir has taken part in different sports activities which depicts enthusiasm from sports loving people especially youth at grass roots level,” Lieutenant Governor said.

Giving details the LG Sinha said that over 1000 athletes and their coaches are participating in the 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games at world famous ski resort Gulmarg. “I am thankful to Union Ministry of Sports who extended its full support and cooperation for the conduct and winter games in Kashmir.” He said.

He added that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Jammu and Kashmir has achieved a unique rank on sports infrastructure augmentation and added, “It will be further boosted in coming times”.

“Today all eyes are on Kashmir to see our hospitality,” he added.
Minister of State for Youth Services & Sports Nitish Parmanik while talking to reporters said the athletes are taking part in winter games in Kashmir and the administration have made sufficient arrangement for smooth conduct of games vindicates the new era the Jammu and Kashmir has entered into.

Lauding efforts of PM Narendra Modi, the Union Minister said that the dream of PM Modi is to become India a sporting nation. He also hailed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for efforts being made for the smooth conduct of games. (KNS)
