Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNS): Deputy Mayor, Srinagar Parveez Ahmad Qadri (Acting Mayor, Srinagar) along senior Officers of the Corporation, Tehsildar Khanyar Srinagar and Concerned Ward Staff of SMC visited Baba Demb area of Sheri Khaas to took stock of the damage caused due to an massive fire incident which took place last night near about at 08:30 PM in which a Band saw and few residential houses were fully damaged.
According to statement, Acting Mayor, Srinagar expressed his sympathy with the families of the fire victims and assured them that he will speak to the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar for providing of immediate necessary relief under norms to the affected families under SDRF.
The Tehsildar Khanyar Srinagar was directed to prepare damage assessment report of the fire gutted structures and initiate process for providing of immediate relief to the families of the fire victims of the said area so that they do not face any hardships.
The Sanitation Officer Central & Ward Officer Concerned of the area was directed to ensure lifting of fire debris at the spot, ensure proper and regular sanitation of the area and also ensure fumigation at the said spot.
The Acting Mayor stressed upon the locals of area to strictly adhere to the instructions of the Government conveyed vide Government Order No.79-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 dated 31/08/2020 and also follow the SOP’s.
The locals of the said area once again thanked the Hon’ble Acting Mayor, Srinagar for the visit and also ensured full cooperation with the SMC staff for up keeping of cleanliness in the area. (KNS)
