Srinagar, Aug 19(KNS): SKUAST Kashmir is working on mission mode to create digital infrastructure and services for the benefit of students and farmers community.

From last one-year university has made significant achievement regarding Online admissions, recruitments and dissemination of latest technologies to the farmers. From 17th of August, 2023, SKUAST Kashmir has switched to the Online counselling mode to provide students with personalized guidance and support for seat selection regardless of their physical location.

Online counselling for admissions refers to the provision of guidance, advice, and support to students and their families as they navigate the university admissions process through virtual platforms and digital communication channels, without reaching to the University physically.

This type of counselling aims to help students make informed decisions about their higher education options and successfully complete the application process as per their choices and interests.

While sharing the importance and motive behind the online counselling system, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Mir, Assistant Professor (IT) and I/C Software Development Cell elaborated that online counselling offers many benefits to the students as well as to the institution.

For students, it provides easy and convenient accessibility, personalized guidance, expanded reach, easy document sharing, reduced travelling cost, individual attention and, last minute support and
guidance.

For University, it provides efficient human resource management, brings automation in the associated processes and more importantly offers transparency and credibility in the admission system.(KNS).
