Srinagar, Aug. 7 (KNS): The Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) operations team was felicitated by the district administration and the National Book Trust (NBT) for its role in the successful organisation of the third edition of the Chinar Book Festival 2026, officials said on Friday.
The eight-day festival, which concluded on July 26 at the SKICC here, witnessed participation from thousands of book lovers, students, authors and literary personalities from across Kashmir and parts of Jammu.
The event featured book exhibitions, cultural performances, literary interactions and intellectual discussions, providing a platform for readers, writers and publishers to engage with one another.

Officials said the SKICC team worked in coordination with various government departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
In recognition of these efforts, SKICC Operations Head Shahnawaz was felicitated by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo and National Book Trust Convener Dr Amit, along with other officials associated with the event's management.
The organisers said the festival's successful conduct reflected effective coordination among the participating departments and institutions involved in hosting the annual literary event.(KNS).
