Srinagar, Jan 07 (KNS): Senior officer of Indian Administrative Service from Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Friday received a national award for management of Covid-19 during his tenure as deputy commissioner of the City. 

The award was presented to him at the 24th National Conference on e-Governance inaugurated at Hyderabad today.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) over phone, Choudhary said that it is the result of the cooperation of Srinagar residents, besides outstanding efforts of doctors, NGO’s, volunteers and government officials of the district. 

He said that it is a token of recognition for their services by the government of India. “It was a successful team work of all the stakeholders. It is an encouragement for the whole Covid-19 management team of Srinagar district. Personal satisfaction for the work is the highest yardstick in any field. The national level recognition motivates the whole team for their work,” Choudhary added.

He also said that the credit for the award goes to all the medical fraternity of SKIMS, GMC and the administrative officials who had a huge contribution towards Covid management.

“The NGO’s and volunteers of Srinagar district also did a commendable work for management of Covid-19 in the district,” he said. (KNS)
